NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Ohio State’s Jordan Fuller has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week.

Fuller, a 6-2, 205-pound senior safety from Old Tappan, New Jersey, had an interception and five tackles in the Buckeyes’ 34-10 win over Michigan State.  Ohio State remained undefeated at 6-0.

Fuller is also an academic star. He entered his senior campaign of 2019 with a 3.8 overall grade point average that has helped him earn every academic award available for an underclassman, including first-team Academic All-American in 2018, Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar and multiple academic all-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete awards. He’ll graduate in December with a degree in business marketing.

A team captain for the second straight year, Fuller leads the team in tackles — as he did last year.

On being a team captain, Fuller said: “I’m just blessed to be in this position.  I’m just going to give them everything I have.  Being able to be a captain at Ohio State, I know it comes with a huge responsibility, but I am willing to uphold that.  I’m just remembering all the captains that came before me and just to enhance it.”

His Mother, Cindy Mizelle, is the rock star of the family, a highly regarded professional singer who has performed with greats, including Mariah Carey, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen.

Ohio State will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of Fuller’s performance.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation sponsors the Lott IMPACT Trophy and has donated more than $1.5 million to universities and charities throughout the country.
