NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Jack Campbell of Iowa has been named the Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week for the first week of the 2022 college football season.

The 6-5, 246-pound senior linebacker from Cedar Falls was responsible for one of the Hawkeyes two safeties in their 7-3 win over South Dakota State. Campbell also added a team high 12 tackles.

Campbell led the nation in tackles with 143 in 2021. He’s a member of the Dean’s List at Iowa and is a member of the Iowa Leadership team.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded annually to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of athletics and recognizes college football’s Defensive Player of the Year who best exemplifies the IMPACT acronym: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State– Recovered two fumbles to go with eight solo tackles in Nittany Lions 35-31 win over Purdue.
