NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Kentucky All-American Josh Allen has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Allen, a 6-5, 260-pound senior from Montclair, NJ, had a career best 15 tackles, including two tackles for loss and two sacks,in the Wildcats’ 34-23 win over Middle Tennessee.
It was the third time this season that Allen has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week. The last player to win the POW award three times was Manti Te’o of Notre Dame in 2012.
For the season, Allen has 75 tackles,17.5 tackles for losses, 13 sacks, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He has a school record 27.5career sacks.
Kentucky will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of his performance.The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation sponsors the Lott IMPACT Trophy and has donated more than $1.5 million to universities and charities throughout the country.
