NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Navy linebacker Colin Ramos is the Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week for week 4 of the 2024 college football season. Ramos made 20 tackles, 2.0 for a loss, including a sack with a pass broken up and a QB hurry as the Midshipmen defeated Memphis 56-44.
The twenty tackles recorded by Ramos Saturday are the most of any FBS player this season, and the most for a Navy player since 2007.
Ramos is a senior from Wayne, NJ, who made 110 tackles last season, part of an All-American Conference campaign. Prior to this season, Ramos was named a co-captain by his teammates, which is the greatest honor a Navy athlete can receive.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy player of the week is determined by a panel of Lott Trophy board members, former players and coaches, as well as members of the media along with an online fan vote.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded annually to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of athletics and recognizes college football’s Defensive Player of the Year who best exemplifies the IMPACT acronym: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
