NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Oklahoma’s Danny Stutsman has been named the Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week for week 2 of the 2023 college football season, as voted by a panel of Lott Trophy board members, former players, and coaches, as well as members of the media.

On Saturday, Stutsman recorded 17 tackles (5 solo), 2.5 for a loss, including a sack, and recovered a fumble in the Sooners 28-11 win over SMU. In addition to being named the Lott IMPACT® Trophy player of the week, Stutsman was also honored as Big 12 conference player of the week.

The junior from Windermere, Florida was named to the All-Big 12 honorable mention team a season ago, as the conference’s leading tackler. Stutsman comes from an athletic family. His parents, Steve and Susy, were both athletes at Baylor, while his sister, Sabrina, played softball at Florida State.

The Lott IMPACT® Trophy is awarded annually to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of athletics and recognizes college football’s Defensive Player of the Year who best exemplifies the IMPACT acronym: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

JARED IVEY, DE, Ole Miss, Sr.– Recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown, to go with 3 tackles, one for a loss, including a sack in the Rebels 37-20 win at #22 Tulane.

KAMREN KINCHENS, S, Miami, Jr.– Recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass to go with 7 tackles in the Hurricanes 48-33 win over Texas A&M, before suffering an injury near the end of the game.

JERRIN THOMPSON, DB, Texas, Sr.– Had a 4th quarter interception with 4 tackles (1 solo) in the Longhorns 34-24 win at #3 Alabama.
