As if 2020 wasn’t wacky enough…

College football is upside down, too.  Michigan, Penn State and Nebraska aren’t ranked.

Defending national champion LSU has won twice, but lost three times.

Coastal Carolina and Liberty University are both ranked and undefeated!

Do you know even where these schools are? Or what their nicknames are?

Coastal Carolina – undefeated at 7-0 and ranked No. 15 in the country – is in Conway, South Carolina and has been around since 1954.  PGA star Dustin Johnson is an alum.

They have a rising football star in Tarron Jackson, a 260-pound defensive end, who has already notched 6 sacks, 9.5 tackles for losses, 14 quarterback hurries and forced three fumbles.

He’s also an academic standout, garnering Sun Belt Academic Honors multiple times with a GPA over 3.0.

So why isn’t he on the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List?  Well, he is now.

Oh, yeah.  Coastal Carolina’s nickname is the Chanticleer – proud and fierce rooster.

Who knew?

Liberty (Lynchburg, Virginia) is also undefeated at 7-0 and the Flames are ranked 22nd.

There’s more…. Alabama, Notre Dame and Ohio State are all undefeated, but so are Cincinnati, BYU, Marshall and Indiana!!!

As of Nov. 9, there have been 48 college football games either postponed or cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Yep, a crazy year for sure.
