NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – USC safety Kamari Ramsey is the Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week for week 1 of the 2024 college football season. Ramsey recorded a game high 9 tackles, five solo, in the Trojans 27-20 win over #13 LSU.
Ramsey is a sophomore who began his collegiate career at UCLA where he started 11 games for the Bruins last season. Ramsey crossed town this offseason with Trojans new defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn. While at UCLA, Ramsey was named to the Athletic Director’s honor roll three times and was a part of the 2023 Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy player of the week is determined by a panel of Lott Trophy board members, former players and coaches, as well as members of the media.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded annually to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of athletics and recognizes college football’s Defensive Player of the Year who best exemplifies the IMPACT acronym: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

Jalon Walker, Georgia, LB, Jr- Made 1.5 sacks, among a team high six tackles, three solo in Bulldogs 34-3 win over #14 Clemson.
Xavier Watts, Notre Dame, S, Sr- Had an interception and made three tackles, two solo, in the Fighting Irish 23-13 win at #20 Texas A&M.
