NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Indiana cornerback D’Angelo Ponds is the Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week for week 9 of the 2024 college football season. Ponds had two interceptions, returned one for a touchdown, and had five tackles in the Hoosiers 31-17 victory over Washington.
Ponds is a transfer from James Madison who has helped #13 Indiana to their second 8-0 start in program history, as the Hoosiers are one of just eight undefeated FBS teams this season.
The Lott IMPACT® Trophy player of the week is determined by a panel of Lott Trophy board members, former players and coaches, as well as members of the media along with an online fan vote.
The Lott IMPACT® Trophy is awarded annually to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of athletics and recognizes college football’s Defensive Player of the Year who best exemplifies the IMPACT acronym: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

Malachi Moore, Alabama, S, RS Senior- Made an interception which he returned 31 yards, also broke up a pass and made 4 tackles, 2 solo in Crimson Tides 34-0 shutout of #21 Missouri.
