Lott IMPACT Trophy

NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Washington linebacker Ben Burr-Kirven has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week.

The 6-0, 222-pound senior from Menlo Park, Ca. had a career high 20 tackles (14 solo), forced two fumbles and recovered one in a 27-20 win over Arizona State.

He was also named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

A standout in the classroom, Burr-Kirven has made the Academic All-Pac-12 team and the Academic All-District Eight team twice.

Says the Huskies’ defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake: “He plays at one speed. He practices the same way. He diagnosis plays so quickly.”

Burr-Kirven, who has 30 more tackles than anyone else on the team, has 53 so far this season.

Washington will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of his performance.
