NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Auburn linebacker DeShaun Davis has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week.
The 5-11, 233-pound senior from Prichard, Alabama had 13 tackles, four tackles for losses, a sack, two quarterback hurries and a pass broken up in a loss to LSU, 22-21.
Davis is a three-year starter for Auburn. He has been an Academic Top Tiger and on the FCA Hard Fighting Soldier team.
Auburn will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of his performance.
The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation sponsors the Lott IMPACT Trophy and has donated more than $1.5 million to universities and charities throughout the country.
Other nominees for the Lott IMPACT Trophy in Week Three:
Joe Dineen Jr., LB, Kansas: Led Jayhawks to second straight win with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery in 55-14 win over Rutgers.
Jordan Kunaszyk, LB, Cal: Had a team high nine tackles with 1.5 for losses in win over Idaho State, 45-23.
Taylor Rapp, S, Washington: Recovered two fumbles and had three tackles in win over Utah, 21-7.
Colin Schooler, LB, Arizona: Led team with nine tackles with two tackles for losses in win over Southern Utah, 62-31.
Drue Tranquill, LB, Notre Dame: Had a team best nine tackles in win over Vanderbilt, 22-17.
Devin White, LB, LSU: Had eight tackles, one for loss in win over Auburn, 22-21.
