NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Vanderbilt linebacker Bryan Longwell is the Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week for week 6 of the 2024 college football season. Longwell had a team high 8 tackles, 5 solo, including 0.5 for a loss, as the Commodores beat then-#1 Alabama 40-35. That win was the first for Vanderbilt over a top-5 team in program history.
Longwell has led his team in tackles two straight weeks and is Vanderbilt’s second leading tackler on the year.
A Sophomore from Nashville, Longwell chose to stay local after playing high school football for former NFL QB Trent Dilfer at Lipscomb Academy. An excellent student, Longwell was an SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll selection last season.
The Lott IMPACT® Trophy player of the week is determined by a panel of Lott Trophy board members, former players and coaches, as well as members of the media along with an online fan vote.
