The Ohio State University’s Caleb Downs Named Winner of Lott IMPACT Trophy Presented by Allied Universal

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Dec. 7, 2025 — Caleb Downs from The Ohio State University has been named winner of the Lott IMPACT^® Trophy presented by Allied Universal^®. A junior safety for the Buckeyes, Downs is a reigning national champion and previous Lott Trophy finalist. He led the Buckeyes to another Big Ten title with the most interceptions and fourth most tackles in America’s top defense.

The announcement was made today at the 22nd annual Lott IMPACT Trophy Award event held at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Calif. Televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network, the awards presentation was hosted by Rick Neuheisel, renown football coach and analyst, alongside CBS Sports reporter Jordan Giorgio.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy presented by Allied Universal is awarded annually to the best defensive player in college football who exhibits the characteristics of Ronnie Lott by making an IMPACT on and off the field. IMPACT is an acronym for integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity.

Other finalists for the 2025 Lott IMPACT Trophy presented by Allied Universal included C.J. Allen (University of Georgia), Rueben Bain (University of Miami), and Jacob Rodriguez (Texas Tech University).

Downs joins James Laurinaitis (2008) as the second winner of the Lott IMPACT Trophy presented by Allied Universal from The Ohio State University.

The four finalists were presented with commemorative Axia watches.

Alabama’s Hubbard named Week 14 Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week

Hubbard had and interception and forced the game sealing fumble in 27-20 Iron Bowl win 

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Dec. 4, 2025 — The Lott IMPACT® Trophy presented by Allied Universal®, announced today Bray Hubbard, a safety from University of Alabama, has been named Player of the Week for Week 14 of the 2025 college football season.

Hubbard forced the game sealing fumble, to go with an interception and two solo tackles in the Crimson Tides 27-20 win over rival Auburn in the “Iron Bowl.”

A native of Ocean Springs, Miss., Hubbard’s four interceptions on the season are tied for most in the SEC. Now is in his junior campaign, Hubbard is also Alabama’s third leading tackler.

As part of the recognition, Allied Universal, in conjunction with the Pacific Club IMPACT® Foundation, will make a donation to Alabama’s general scholarship fund in Hubbard’s honor.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy presented by Allied Universal will be awarded on December 7, at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Calif. in a live television broadcast on CBS Sports Network at 7pm EST. The show will be hosted by Rick Neuheisel, along with reporter Jordan Giorgio. The finalists for the event are CJ Allen (Georgia), Rueben Bain (Miami), Caleb Downs (Ohio State) and Jacob Rodriguez (Texas Tech).

• Chris Victor, LB, California- Had two sacks, among three tackles for a loss, seven total, in Bears 38-35 upset of #21 SMU.

Former UCLA head coach and current CBS college football analyst Rick Neuheisel will host the event, along with CBS sideline reporter Jordan Giorgio.

This is the 22nd year of the Lott IMPACT Trophy presented by Allied Universal, which is awarded annually to the student-athlete that best exhibits the characteristics of hall of fame safety Ronnie Lott by making an IMPACT on and off the field. Oklahoma’s Bowen named Week 12 Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week

Sooners DB Eli Bowen’s pick-six helped lift #11 Oklahoma past #4 Alabama 23-21

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Nov. 19, 2025 — The Lott IMPACT® Trophy presented by Allied Universal®, announced today Eli Bowen, a defensive back from University of Oklahoma, has been named Player of the Week for Week 12 of the 2025 college football season.

Bowen returned an interception 87 yards for a touchdown, to go with five tackles, all solo, in Sooners 23-21 upset at #4 Alabama.

A returning All-Academic member in the Big 12, and a Freshman All-American in 2024, Bowen has navigated injury in his 2025 campaign. His interception Saturday was his first of the season and second of his career. 

As part of the recognition, Allied Universal, in conjunction with the Pacific Club IMPACT® Foundation, will make a donation to Oklahoma’s general scholarship fund in Bowen’s honor.

Texas Tech linebacker wins national award for second time this season after 14 tackle game vs #8 BYU.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Nov. 12, 2025 — The Lott IMPACT® Trophy presented by Allied Universal®, announced today Jacob Rodriguez, a linebacker from Texas Tech University, has been named Player of the Week for Week 11 of the 2025 college football season.

Rodriguez had a game-high 14 tackles, nine solo, one for a loss to go with an interception in Texas Tech’s 29-7 victory over #8 BYU.

This is the second Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week honor for Rodriguez this season, who also won in Week 4. Rodriguez is one of eight semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy. The winner will be announced on December 7, in Newport Beach, Calif.

As part of the recognition, Allied Universal, in conjunction with the Pacific Club IMPACT® Foundation, will make a donation to Texas Tech’s general scholarship fund in Rodriguez’s honor.

KJ Bolden, DB, Georgia – Team best 10 tackles, four solo, one for a loss to go with a fumble recovery in the Bulldogs 41-21 win over Mississippi State.

Cooper Catalano, LB, Wisconsin – The true freshman had 19 tackles, 12 solo, in Wisconsin’s 13-10 win over #24 Washington, their first ranked win since 2021.

Aiden Fisher, LB, Indiana – Recovered a fumble and had an interception, both leading to scores, to go with nine tackles in return from injury as Indiana beat Penn State 27-24.

Semifinalists for the 2025 Lott IMPACT® Trophy

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Nov. 10, 2025 — The Pacific Club IMPACT® Foundation today announced that it has selected eight semifinalists for the 2025 Lott IMPACT® Trophy, presented by Allied Universal®. They are:

This group of semifinalists features six Associated Press midseason All-America first team members and is composed of three defensive lineman, three linebackers, and two defensive backs. Three of the selections are from the SEC, two from the Big Ten one player each from both the ACC and Big XII, as well as Notre Dame.

Finalists will be announced Thursday, Nov. 20.

A national voter poll will select the winner of the Lott IMPACT® Trophy, which will be presented in Newport Beach, Calif., on Dec. 7, at The Pacific Club.

Mustang’s Moses made Week 10 Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week

SMU safety Ahmaad Moses had two interceptions and 15 tackles in upset of #10 Miami

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Nov. 5, 2025 — The Lott IMPACT® Trophy presented by Allied Universal®, today announced Ahmaad Moses, a safety from Southern Methodist University, has been named Player of the Week for Week 10 of the 2025 college football season.

Moses intercepted two passes to go with a game-high 15 tackles, two for a loss, in SMUs 26-10 upset of #10 Miami on Saturday.

Including the two interceptions on Saturday, Moses is now up to five on the year, to go with 69 tackles, second-most on his team. The junior from Arlington, TX, was an All-ACC honorable mention last season.

BYU safety, Satuala, selected Week 9 Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week

Faletau Satuala’s pick-six pivotal in Cougars 41-27 win at Iowa State

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Oct. 29, 2025 — The Lott IMPACT® Trophy presented by Allied Universal®, today announced Faletau Satuala, a safety from Brigham Young University, has been named Player of the Week for Week 9 of the 2025 college football season.

Satuala returned an interception for a touchdown, to go with a game high 10 tackles, with six solo, and one for a loss in Cougars 41-27 win at Iowa State.

A sophomore at BYU, Satuala is from Bountiful, Utah, where he was a high school All-American and a four star prospect out of Bountiful HS.

Alabama CB Zabien Brown named Week 8 Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week

Brown’s pick-six turned the (Crimson) tide in Alabama’s win over Tennessee.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Oct. 22, 2025 — The Lott IMPACT® Trophy presented by Allied Universal®, today announced Alabama cornerback Zabien Brown has been named Player of the Week for Week 8 of the 2025 college football season.

Brown returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown, to go with matching a game-high seven tackles as the Crimson Tide defeated #11 Tennessee 37-20 on Saturday.

A sophomore at Alabama, Brown is from Southern California where he played high school football at Mater Dei in Santa Ana, CA, where he was a five-star prospect and the third ranked cornerback in the nation.
