USC’s Su’a Cravens wins back to back Lott IMPACT Player of the Week

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – Su’a Cravens of USC has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week for the second week in a row.
The 6-1, 225-pound junior from Vista Murietta High School led the Trojans’ defense with eight tackles, two of them for losses and one quarterback sack in a win over Colorado, 27-24. It was the fourth straight win for the Trojans.
In recognition of Cravens’ performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at USC.
Cravens has 66 tackles this season and leads USC with 12 tackles for losses. He also has two interceptions, two forced fumbles and 5.5 sacks.
A mid-season All-American selection, he is majoring in policy planning and development at USC.
Other notable performances by players on the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List were:
Tyler Matakevich, LB, Sr., Temple – Had team high 9 tackles, 1.5 tackles for losses in loss to South Florida, 44-23.
Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Jr., Oklahoma State – Had 2 sacks, 2 quarterback hurries and 7 total tackles in win over Iowa State, 35-31.
Joshua Perry, LB, Sr., Ohio State – Had 9 tackles (1/2 sack), a quarterback hurry as Buckeyes held Illinois to 20 net yards rushing in 28-3 win.
Reggie Ragland, LB, Sr., Alabama – Had 8 tackles and broke up one pass in win over Mississippi State, 31-6.
Jaylon Smith, LB, Jr., Notre Dame – Had game high 14 tackles including one for a loss, a quarterback hurry and a pass broken up in win over Wake Forest, 28-7.
