- Updated: November 29, 2016
NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – USC’s electrifying Adoree’ Jackson has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week for the third time this season.
It is the first time a player has been honored three times in a season since 2012 when Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o was a triple recipient.
Jackson was spectacular last Saturday in the Trojans’ 45-27 win over Notre Dame. He returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown, returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown and caught a pass and ran it 52 yards for another touchdown.
“The returns and reception were just great blocks by everybody,” Jackson said. “They made it look easier than it was. I knew something special would happen when I trust them. They set things up, and it makes a highlight play.”
In recognition of Jackson’s performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at the USC.
For the season, Jackson has accounted for 1,074 yards on returns, receptions and rushes. He’s 3rd in the nation in punt return average (15.9) and 6th in kickoff returns (30.5). He has 51 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 11 passes broken up. He has 4 interceptions and 5 touchdowns.
The four finalists for the 13th annual Lott IMPACT Trophy will be announced Nov. 30 and the winner will be announced at the Lott IMPACT Trophy Award Banquet at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Ca. on Dec. 11.
