USC LB Cameron Smith Named Lott IMPACT Player of the Week For Second Time This Season

USC Linebacker Cameron Smith has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Smith is a 6-2, 250-pound Junior from Roseville, Ca. He led the Trojans with 16 tackles and had an interception in USC’s 28-27 win over Utah. Smith leads the Trojans with 62 tackles this season. He has 223 for his career.

USC will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of Smith’s performance.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation sponsors the Lott IMPACT Trophy and has donated more than $1.4 million to universities and charities throughout the country.

Lott IMPACT Trophy candidates will be featured on “Inside College Football” on CBS Sports Network, which airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. (Eastern). The show is hosted by Adam Zucker with analysts Randy Cross, Brian Jones, Rick Neuheisel and Aaron Taylor.
CBS Sports Network will air the annual Lott IMPACT Trophy banquet live on Dec. 10 from the Pacific Club in Newport Beach.

Other nominees for the Lott IMPACT Trophy in Week Seven:

Quin Blanding, S, Virginia: Led team with 10 tackles and had a quarterback hurry in win over North Carolina, 20-14.

Malik Jefferson, Texas: Led team with 11 tackles with a sack and a quarterback hurry in loss to Oklahoma, 29-24.

Derek McCartney, Colorado: Had 10 tackles and a quarterback hurry in win over Oregon State, 36-33.

Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Oklahoma: Had 5 quarterback hurries, a sack, a pass defended, a forced fumble and 5 total tackles in win over Texas, 29-24.

Kenny Young, UCLA: Led Bruins with 10 tackles in loss to Arizona, 47-30.
