USC Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson takes top honors for the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week

NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – USC’s dynamic Adoree’ Jackson has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Jackson had two critical interceptions Saturday in the Trojans’ upset win over No. 4 ranked Washington, 26-13.

The 5-11, 185-pound junior cornerback also had three tackles, a pass defended, three kickoff returns for 59 yards and an eight-yard run from scrimmage that resulted in a first down.

In recognition of Jackson’s performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at USC.

For the season, Jackson is 7th in the country in punt returns with an average of 14.7 yards per return and 9th in the nation in kickoff returns with an average of 29 yards per return.

“He’s an ultra-special talent,” says USC Head Coach Clay Helton. “He’s just really special.  Every time he touches the ball you hold your breath because he can take it 80 yards.  He’s electric.”

The finalists for the 13th annual Lott IMPACT Trophy will be announced Dec.2 and the winner at the Lott IMPACT Trophy Awards Banquet at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach on Dec. 11.

Desmond King, S, Iowa: Had 6 tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass broken up, 3 punt returns for 17 yards, 4 kick returns for 74 yards in win upset win over Michigan, 14-13. 

Raekwon McMillan, LB, Ohio State: Led team with 10 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble in win over Maryland, 62-3.
