The Lott IMPACT Trophy Adds Four to 2014 Watch List

The Lott IMPACT Trophy has added four players to its 2014 Watch List.

They are:

  •         Xavier Cooper, Washington State, DL
  •         Christian Covington, Rice, DL
  •         Anthony Harris, Virginia, S
  •         Jake Ryan, Michigan, LB

Xavier Cooper is a 6-4, 300-pound senior defensive tackle who led the Cougars with 13.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks last season. He also recovered two fumbles (one for a touchdown) and forced two others while recording 50 tackles. Cooper overcame a learning disability in high school to prosper at WSU.

Christian Covington is a 6-3, 300-pound redshirt junior defensive tackle. All C-USA first team choice last season with 11.5 tackles for losses and 59 total tackles. Member of C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Anthony Harris is a 6-1, 190-pound senior safety who is on all pre-season watch lists and All-American teams. He led the nation in interceptions with 8 last season and has been selected a team captain for 2014.

Jake Ryan is a 6-3, 236-pound senior linebacker who missed part of last season with a torn ACL. In 2012, he led the Wolverines with 88 tackles and 16 tackles for losses. Ryan is a team captain and has already completed his undergraduate work.
