TCU’s Sam Carter Named Lott IMPACT Player of The Week

TCU Safety Sam Carter has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.

Carter had two interceptions along with four tackles and one pass broken up in TCU’s win over Texas, 48-10.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will make a donation of $1,000 to the general scholarship fund at TCU to recognize Carter’s performance.

Carter is a 6-1, 215-pound senior from New Orleans who has 13 career interceptions and 170 tackles for the Horned Frogs.  He is a team captain for 10-1 TCU.

Other Nominees This Week:

Landon Collins (Alabama, S): Recorded nine tackles and broke up one pass in win over Auburn, 55-44.

Bud Dupree (Kentucky, DE): Recorded three tackles for losses, including one sack, forced two fumbles and had seven total tackles in loss to Louisville, 44-40.

Bryce Hager (Baylor, LB): Led team with nine tackles, one for a loss and had a quarterback hurry in win over Texas Tech, 48-46.

David Helton (Duke, LB): Was credited with three quarterback hurries, six total tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in win over Wake Forest, 41-21.

Karl Joseph (West Virginia, S): Had eight tackles, one interception, one quarterback hurry and two passes broken up in win over Iowa State, 37-24.

Jaylon Smith (Notre Dame, LB): Had a game high 14 tackles with one sack in loss to USC, 49-14.
