Su’a Cravens of USC Named Wk 10 Lott IMPACT Player of the Week

Su'a Cravens Week 10 Winner 1024x360NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – Su’a Cravens of USC has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.

The 6-1, 225-pound junior from Vista Murietta High School led the Trojans’ defense in a hard-fought win over Arizona, 38-30, Saturday night. Cravens, who got a cut on his hand that required stitches during the first half, finished with eight tackles, 2.5 for losses , 1.5 sacks and forced a fumble as USC improved to 6-3.

In recognition of Cravens’ performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at USC.

Cravens has 58 tackles this season and leads USC with 10 tackles for losses. He also has two interceptions, two forced fumbles and 4.5 sacks.

A mid-season All-American selection, he is majoring in policy planning and development at USC.

Other notable performances by players on the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List were:

Tyler Matakevich, LB, Sr., Temple – Had team high 9 tackles, 2 tackles for losses, a quarterback hurry and broke up a pass in 60-40 win over SMU.

Carl Nassib, DE, Sr., Penn State – Forced a fumble, recorded a sack, broke up a pass and had 4 tackles in loss to Northwestern, 23-21.

Jared Norris, LB, Sr., Utah – Had 10 tackles, one for a loss and forced a fumble in win over Washington, 34-23.

Joshua Perry, LB, Sr., Ohio State – Led Buckeyes with 10 tackles, one tackle for a loss, one quarterback hurry and broke up one pass in win over Minnesota, 28-14.

Jalen Ramsey, CB, Jr., Florida State – Had 9 tackles, a sack and broke up one pass in loss to Clemson, 23-13.

Eric Striker, LN, Sr., Oklahoma – Credited with 3 quarterback hurries, one sack and 4 total tackles in win over Iowa State, 52-16.
