Stanford DL Harrison Phillips Named Lott IMPACT Player of the Week For Second Time This Season

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – Stanford’s Harrison Phillips has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The 6-4, 295-pound senior defensive tackle from Omaha had two sacks, three tackles for losses and six total tackles in Stanford’s 38-20 win over Notre Dame.

Phillips is a double major in science, technology and society as well as sociology. He is a two-time academic All-District selection and is on the AFCA Good Works Team. A team captain, Phillips has 86 tackles on the season and a team high 16.5 tackles for losses.

Stanford will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of Phillips’  performance.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation sponsors the Lott IMPACT Trophy and has donated more than $1.4 million to universities and charities throughout the country.

Lott IMPACT Trophy candidates will be featured on “Inside College Football” on CBS Sports Network, which airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. (Eastern). The show is hosted by Adam Zucker with analysts Randy Cross, Brian Jones, Rick Neuheisel and Aaron Taylor.

CBS Sports Network will air the annual Lott IMPACT Trophy banquet live on Dec. 10 from the Pacific Club in Newport Beach.

Derwin James, DB, Florida State: 7 tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass defended and 2 quarterback hurries in win over Florida, 38-22.
Malik Jefferson, LB, Texas: 10 tackles and one quarterback hurry in loss to Texas Tech, 27-23.
Josey Jewell, LB, Iowa: Had 8 tackles, 1.5 tackles for losses and 3 passes defended in win over Nebraska, 56-14.
Micah Kiser, LB, Virginia: Recorded 19 tackles (5 solo) with 1.5 tackles for losses in loss to Virginia Tech, 10-0.
Kenny Young, LB, UCLA: Recorded 15 tackles and recovered a fumble in win over Cal, 30-27.

About the Lott IMPACT Trophy

Named after Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Ronnie Lott, The Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded to college football’s Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year. Founded in 2004 by The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, The Lott Trophy is the first and only college football award to equally recognize athletic performance and the personal character attributes of the player.

The Lott Trophy is given to the player who exhibits the same characteristics Lott embodied during his distinguished career: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity. Voters for the award include selected members of the national media, previous finalists, the Board of Directors of the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation and a distinguished group of former college football head coaches.

To date, the Foundation has donated more than $1.4 million to various charities throughout the country. The 14th annual Lott Trophy dinner will be held Dec. 10th at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, California.
