Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers Named Lott IMPACT Player of the Week

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – Michigan’s all-purpose star Jabrill Peppers has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.The 6-1, 208-pound junior from East Orange, New Jersey, was all over the field Saturday in a 45-28 come-from-behind win over Colorado. Peppers returned a punt 54 yards for a touchdown; had 3.5 tackles for losses; 9 total tackles; one sack; one quarterback hurry; also ran twice from scrimmage for 24 yards and returned 2 kicks for 81 yards. He had a total of 204 all-purpose yards.
In recognition of Peppers’ performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at Michigan.
“He was the best player on the field,” said Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh. “Without him, we don’t win the game.”
Said Wolverine quarterback Wilton Speight: “He’s the best athlete pound-for-pound in college, probably in any sport.”
Added Wide Receiver Amara Darboh: “He’s so important to our team. He’s on offense, defense, special teams and do it all. I wouldn’t trade him for anybody.”
Other notable performances by players on the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List were:
Jamal Adams (S, Sr., LSU): Led team with 9 tackles with ½ tackle for loss in win over Mississippi State, 23-20.
Sean Ahern (S, Sr., Harvard): Forced a fumble, broke up a pass and added 4 tackles in win over Rhode Island, 51-21.
Jonathan Allen (DT, Sr., Alabama): Returned an interception 75 yards for a touchdown; added 4 tackles in win over Mississippi, 48-43.
Jack Cichy (LB, Sr., Wisconsin): Had 8 tackles; one tackle for loss; one pass breakup in win over Georgia State, 23-17.
Eddie Jackson (S, Sr., Alabama): Returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown; added 2 tackles in win over Mississippi, 48-43.
Raekwon McMillan (LB, Jr., Ohio State): Contributed 8 tackles with 1.5 tackles for losses in win over Oklahoma, 45-24.
Anthony Walker (LB, Sr., Northwestern): Had 2 tackles for losses; one sack; one forced fumble; one fumble return; and 5 total tackles in win over Duke, 24-13.
