NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Michigan’s multi-purpose star Jabrill Peppers has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The 6-1, 208-pound junior from East Orange, New Jersey, had another impressive all-around performance in the Wolverines’ critical win over Michigan State, 32-23.  Peppers not only had seven tackles (two for losses) and a sack, but he scored a rushing touchdown (from three yards), returned a kick, returned a punt, caught a pass and scooped up a fumble on a two-point conversion attempt, bringing it back 86 yards for two Michigan points late in the game.

“He picked up that option pitch (on the two-point failed conversion by Michigan State) and started running down … I was a little disappointed that parachutes didn’t deploy,” said Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh. “That’s what looked like was going to happen. … Impressive. Mercy.”

In recognition of Peppers’ performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at Michigan.

For the season, Peppers has played 13 different positions on offense, defense and special teams.  He has recorded 48 tackles, 12.5 tackles for losses and 3 sacks on defense.  He has rushed 15 times for 131 yards on offense and he has returned kicks and punts 425 yards on special teams.  He’s scored four times.

Michigan is 8-0 and ranked No. 2 in the country.
