Lott Impact Trophy Adds Five Student-Athletes to 2015 Watch List

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – The Lott IMPACT Trophy has added five student-athletes to the 2015 Watch List.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy, presented by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, is now in its 12th year. The award goes annually to the collegiate defensive player who best exemplifies the characteristics exhibited by Ronnie Lott – Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
To date the IMPACT Foundation has donated more than $1.1 million to universities and charities throughout the United States.
The players, who immediately become eligible for the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week, which awards $1,000 to the general scholarship fund of the honoree’s university (and $25,000 to the winner’s school), are:
Riley Bullough, Jr., LB, Michigan State – His 39 total tackles are second in the nation and he had three sacks in the opening win against Oregon.
Deon Bush, Sr., DB, Miami – Recently named to the American Football Coaches Assn. (AFCA) Good Works Team. Has 11 tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery.
Myles Garrett, So., DE, Texas A&M – Has 6.5 tackles for losses, 5.5 sacks, 5 quarterback hurries and a forced fumble in first three games of season. Consensus freshman All-American last season when he had 11.5 sacks.
Jordan Jenkins, Sr., LB, Georgia – Leads the undefeated Bulldogs with 22 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for losses, 3 sacks and 7 quarterback hurries. Named most improved player on team last year when he had 12.5 tackles for losses.
Tyler Matakevich, Sr., LB, Temple – Had 3 sacks in Penn State win. On track to become only 7th player in NCAA history to record 100 tackles or more in four seasons. Leads undefeated Owls with 29 tackles this season with 3 sacks and 2 interceptions. Named to Senior Class Award list, recognizing excellence in community, classroom, character and competition. Team captain.
