Iowa’s Jordan Lomax named Wk 12 Lott IMPACT Player of the Week

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – Jordan Lomax of Iowa has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.
The 5-10, 205-pound senior from Upper Marlboro, Maryland led the Hawkeyes with 13 tackles, broke up one pass and forced a fumble in a 40-20 win that kept Iowa undefeated at 11-0.
In recognition of Lomax’s performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at Iowa.
Lomax, a free safety, has 71 tackles this season, 7 passes broken up and 6 passes defended. He’s also an academic standout with a 3.48 GPA who will graduate in June with a degree in economics. He has twice been named to the All-Big Ten academic team.
Other notable performances by players on the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List were:
Bronson Kaufusi, LB, Sr., BYU – Had 3 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, one pass breakup and blocked a field goal attempt in win over Fresno State, 52-10.
Tyler Matakevich, LB, Sr., Temple – Led Owls with 11 tackles with one tackle for loss in win over Memphis, 31-12. Became 7th player in NCAA history to have four 100+ tackles in a season.
Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Jr., Oklahoma State – Had 9 tackles, one sack, one pass breakup, one quarterback hurry and recovered a fumble in loss to Baylor, 45-35.
Joshua Perry, LB, Sr., Ohio State – Had game high 15 tackles, ½ tackle for loss in loss to Michigan State, 17-14.
Jaylon Smith, LB, Jr., Notre Dame – Led team with 11 tackles, one for a loss in win over Boston College, 19-16.
Eric Striker, LB, Jr., Oklahoma – Led Sooners with 9 tackles, 1.5 tackles for losses, one quarterback hurry and broke up one pass in win over TCU, 30-29.
