HOUSTON’S ED OLIVER NAMED LOTT IMPACT TROPHY PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – Houston defensive lineman Ed Oliver has been named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week.

Oliver, 6-3, 290, had 13 tackles, 3 ½ for losses and a pair of quarterback hurries in a 45-27 win over Rice.

A 2017 All-American, Oliver won the Outland Trophy last year as the top lineman in the country. He now has 43 tackles for losses in just 26 career games.

Houston will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of Oliver’s performance.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation sponsors the Lott IMPACT Trophy and has donated more than $1.4 million to universities and charities throughout the country.

Josh Allen, LB, Kentucky: Had 10 tackles, three for losses, a sack and one quarterback hurry in win over Central Michigan, 35-20.

Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State: Recovered two fumbles, one for a touchdown, had two sacks in win over Oregon State, 77-31.

Troy Dye, LB, Oregon: Had an interception, broke up a pass and had eight tackles in win over Bowling Green, 58-24.

Pat Jasinski, LB, Central Florida: Led team with 11 tackles (10 solo), forced one fumble and broke up one pass in 56-17 win over Connecticut.

Bobby Okereke, LB, Stanford: Recorded a sack for Stanford’s first score of the game, had two tackles for loss, a sack, three total tackles and broke up a pass in win over San Diego State, 31-10.

Cameron Smith, LB, USC: Had 7 tackles, two tackles for losses, a sack and broke up two passes in win over Nevada Las Vegas, 43-21.
