Former Stanford football All-American and an eleven year NFL veteran Darrin Nelson joined AM830 today to talk about the Lott IMPACT Trophy and the WK2 Lott IMPACT Player of The Week Ed Reynolds from his alma mater Stanford.

At Stanford Nelson was a four-time All-Pac-10 selection and a First-Team All-American. He was one of the most prolific all-purpose running backs in college football during his career at Stanford. He rewrote the Cardinal record books, and still holds several Cardinal records, including career touchdowns (40) and career rushing yards (4,033). Nelson became the first player in NCAA history to rush for over 1,000 yards and catch 50 passes in a season – a feat he accomplished three times in his four years. Nelson spent nine seasons in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings and two with the San Diego Chargers. Since his football career Nelson has held the Senior Associate Athletic Director- External Relations/Development for Stanford and a similar position with UC Irvine.
