Former Lott Winners Capture NFL Awards

The Lott IMPACT Trophy swept the annual National Football League defensive awards this season with 2010 Lott winner J.J. Watt being named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year and 2011 Lott winner Luke Kuechly being named the Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Watt, the defensive end for the Houston Texans, led the NFL with 20.5 sacks. The former Wisconsin star received an astonishing 49 of 50 votes.

Kuechly, who played his college football at Boston College, stepped in immediately with the Carolina Panthers and led the NFL with 164 tackles.

Both players continue to make an IMPACT on and off the field as professionals, much as they did as college stars en route to being named Lott IMPACT Award recipients.
