Duke’s Helton Named Lott IMPACT Player of the Week

David Helton

Duke Linebacker David Helton has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week. The 6-4, 235-pound Helton had a team high 14 tackles in a win over Virginia, 20-13.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will make a donation of $1,000 to the general scholarship fund at Duke to recognize Helton’s performance. Helton is a two-time academic All-ACC choice and has been nominated for the Campbell Award (academic Heisman).

Other Nominees for Week 8 Player of The Week:

Ronald Darby (Florida State, DB): Had seven tackles and broke up one pass in 31-27 win over Notre Dame.

Cole Farrand (Maryland, LB): Broke up two passes and had 11 tackles in win over Iowa, 38-31.

Hau’oli Kikaha (Washington, DE): Had 2.5 more sacks, 10 total tackles in loss to Oregon, 45-20.

Hayes Pullard (USC, LB): Had 9 tackles and two passes broken up in 56-28 win over Colorado.

Deterrian Shackelford (Ole Miss, LB): Recorded team high 8 tackles and had one sack with a quarterback hurry in 31-3 win over Tennessee.

Ramik Wilson (Georgia, LB): Had game high 14 tackles and was credited with two quarterback hurries in win over Arkansas, 45-32.
