OFF THE FIELD

Corey Cooper is a senior safety for the University of Nebraska. As a part of the football team, Cooper participates in at least two service projects a year. Cooper partakes in a variety of projects such as school outreach programs, Husker Heroes, and hospital visits. Cooper also excels in the classroom earning him Academic All – Big Ten his freshman year. He was also selected to the 2012 Commissioner’s Spring Academic Honor Roll and the Nebraska Scholar – Athlete Honor Role. Cooper has completed his undergraduate degree in ethnic studies and is currently pursuing his master’s degree.

ON THE FIELD

On the field Cooper dominated defensively which earned him several honors his junior year. He was voted by coaches as an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten and second team All-Big Ten. Phil Steele placed him on the Defensive first team All-Big Ten and Athlon Sports selected him to the Defensive second team All-Big Ten. Cooper will continue to improve on and off the field in his final season with the Huskers.
