OFF THE FIELD

Cole Farrand is a strong contributor in the University of Maryland community. Off of the field Farrand is seen helping out throughout the community and excelling in academics. In his sophomore year at Maryland he made the All – ACC Academic selection. He continued to strive in his academics his junior year where he was Academic All – ACC for the second straight year. He was a part of his team’s leadership council, and also served in different community engagement projects. Farrand and his team participated in the Cup of Joe program where they packed 2,300 breakfast to-go. He also participated in the Casey Cares Foundation that helps raise money for critically ill children and their families.

ON THE FIELD

As a freshmen Farrand played in the final nine games of the season as a reserve linebacker and special teams performer. Farrand worked hard in the upcoming offseson, which led him to play in all 12 Maryland games and start in 11 and recorded a team high 78 tackles and three forced fumbles his sophomore  year. In his junior season Farrand was named an honorable mention All-ACC selection by the media and coaches, ranking 11th in the ACC for tackles per game with 7.6 tackles per game. Now in his senior year, Farrand has been placed on the All – Big Ten Third Team by Athlon Sports and College Sports Madness.
